We decided it would be great to spotlight members of Team Kilt. Since we've all gotten to know each other pretty well on Twitter, but we thought it'd be fun to dig a little deeper and learn even more about this crazy group of people that call themselves Team Kilt. You guys fascinate us! We want to know everything about you! Ok, not EVERYTHING. But, you know, more. We want to know MORE about you.
So for the next week (until Round 2 of the YA Crush Tourney) we are going to post interviews from Team Kilt members BY Team Kilt members. That's right...you are interviewing you.
First up today is Ginger and Claire!! Say hello and enjoy learning a little more about them.
Interviewed by: Claire
Which age group would you put yourself in? Even though I read YA I am definitely more A than Y. If we're being technical here, I just turned 31 a week ago :)
What is your favorite animal? A 9 year old German Shepard by the name of Daisy. I adopted her from a shelter when she was just a pup & it was love at first sight! She's been my baby girl ever since.
What format do you tend to read your books on? Hardback/Paperback is my favorite, but lately I've been a sucker for those $2.99 ebook deals on my nook. You can't pass that up! But, those signed physical copies will always be my most precious formats.
How many books do you read a year? I challenged myself to read 85 books this year. Currently I am at 41 books. I think that's pretty good, but goodreads is telling me I am a few behind. Oops.
What is your favorite picture from SHADEboys? It is actually a graphic I made last year during the YACrushTourney. Jeri posted it on her blog a few months back & it will always remind me of one of my favorite scenes in the book: The River Scene. Oh man. I think the graphic is just perfect for it ;) It can be found here: http://blog.jerismithready.com/2012/02/team-smackdown-finals-time-to-get.html
What is your favorite page in the Shade trilogy? "A bright blue shoelace flapped in the gathering breeze. Letters were written on one end, near the plastic tip... The breeze was twisting the shoelace so fast I couldn't read the letters on it. But I recognized that sky-blue color, and the skate shoes it had once matched... LPK. 'He made me promise to do something for him.'" - Shine (Shade, #3) pg. 301
What is your favourite song on the Shade trilogy playlist? "Good Arms vs. Bad Arms" by Frightened Rabbit. This band has a special place in my heart, in which I was a fan before I read the Shade series. So when I found out it's one of Jeri's favorite bands, it made the story that much more special to me. When I saw them mentioned in Shine, I just about died. This song in particular is my favorite of theirs. So much passion. How can you not adore it?
When you read a book do you shout at the characters? If yes, what do you usually shout? "Kiss him!!!!" It's no secret I like kissing in books. So when two characters are exuding so much passion & tension, yet their lips refuse to lock, I can't help myself from screaming at the pages. Once that moment does occur, whew boy, I've been known to put the book down and fan myself a few times, ha.
Just a random question Team Nash or Team Tod? I actually have not read the Soul Screamers books. I know, I know! I really need to. They've been recommended to me before.. and have been added to my every growing TBR pile.

When did your love for the Shade series begin? Take us back to that first meeting. I first heard about them during last year’s YA Crush Tourney. The fact that it was a Scottish guy got me interested. I finally read Shade and Shift in Nov and totally fell in love with them. In fact, Shift I read in 1 day and then I found them on Twitter and never looked back.
Which character from the series did you find yourself most connected to? I love Logan. He reminds me of my husband when he was younger. He played in a punk band round the Irish pubs in London. They share many similarities. Well apart from Logan one.
I know you're from the other side of the pond, care to share exactly which parts? Anything unique about your hometown? Well I live in Kent about 30 miles from London, the South East direction. If you find the motorway called M20 coming off the M25 (circular motorway round London) Snodland is at Junction 4.
Can’t think of anything unique, apart from I live here. We are a large village that is trying to be a town. But we are slowly getting eaten up by the London sprawl. Mind you I get to London often and the continent is very accessible. We are in a valley so when we get a thunderstorm they tend to get stuck in the valley and rumble around for quite a while.
It's the middle of the night, you're starving for a snack, what's your go-to munchie? When I’m hanging around for Team Kilt it’s a big mug of tea and chocolate or plain Hob Nobs.
First band/singer you saw in concert? This is going to age me. I saw Queen at Knebworth.
When you're not hanging out with Team Kilt, what occupies your time? Mundane things like family, dog, working, reading, cinema, chatting with my Time Zones Will Not Defeat Us Book Club girls on twitter and Facebook, sometimes at the same time which gets confusing. I like to travel, but Team Kilt tends to come with me in my pocket. I love shopping and eating. I love the open countryside but I also love the city.
If you could be present for any scene in the Shade series, which one would you choose? Love to go to one of The Keeley brothers concerts and watch Logan perform!
Last thing to make you smile? Happy endings (they make me cry as well), other people enjoying themselves. Being hugged.
