If you have a blog and would like to participate in this hop we’d like to say THANK YOU! Just write a blog post on Saturday, March 17, about your favorite thing about Ireland OR your favorite kiss story and hold a giveaway. You can set your own rules for the giveaway (ie – international eligibility, time limits, what people have to do to enter, etc.) but you do need to have a winner selected by Thursday, March 22.
Why, you ask?
Because Jeri Smith-Ready is giving away the very last SHINE ARC at the end of this event. Winners from each participating blog are entered into a grand prize drawing for the very last SHINE ARC. We ask that you email the name of your giveaway winner directly to Jeri (jeri at jerismithready dot com). And get this: Each blogger who hosts a giveaway get TWO entries into the grand prize drawing for the very last SHINE ARC.
Link up your blog post to the linky tool found at the bottom of this post. Click on the blue "Click here to enter" link and enter your blog name and the URL of your giveaway blog post. Email us (admin at kiltandkeeley dot com) if you have any questions at all.
While it’s true that I have exactly zero drops of Irish blood in my family line, I do still enjoy a good kiss. And today I’d like to share my “First Kiss” story with you.
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Jen. Jen had a mad crush on a boy named…Mickey. (NOT HIS REAL NAME, lol) Mickey was a 7th grader and much cooler than the cute little 5th grader who batted her eyes at him from the curb while he rode his BMX bike up and down 10th Street. A bunch of fun stuff happened that summer and Mickey realized that Jen was a-ok after all. In fact, he thought she was a-ok enough to well, you know, kiss.
So they climbed up onto the roof of the neighbor’s barn-shaped shed just after dark one summer day in 1984. They gazed at the stars and made small talk about the really cool Star Wars figures Mickey collected. Then they looked at each other, laughed nervously and went in to seal the deal. It was only a quick peck on the lips, but it was a fine peck. So fine that they did it again. And again. (Let’s just say this wasn’t Mickey’s first, second & third kiss.)
EPILOGUE: Later that week, Jen and Mickey were wed near the wood pile in Jen’s backyard. One of the other kids from the neighborhood officiated while the guests of this momentous occasion threw dirt at them in lieu of rice. They would have lived happily ever after if only Chad hadn’t moved in next door.
Now it’s your turn to dish. Tell us a good kiss story! If you don’t want to share one of your own kissy moments, tell us your favorite kissing scene from a book or movie.
Your answer in the comments below is your entry for our giveaway prize consisting of a large Flogging Molly T-Shirt, a pair of sporty Ireland socks and a wicked bottle of green nail polish. This contest is open internationally and will end on Tuesday, March 20 at 11:59PM CST.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE.
If you win the giveaway here or on any participating blog, your name will be passed on to Jeri Smith-Ready and you'll be entered into the grandest prize giveaway of all. The very last SHINE ARC! So be sure to visit each and every blog participating in the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" Giveaway Hop. You'll find a list of these fine folks on the linky tool just down a bit further.
Good luck and get to telling us a good kissing story!
